Eu deixarei uma imagem em anexo que por sinal está muito ruim, mas dá para entender (só tracei uns segmentos e coloquei os pontos)
O = centro do círculo
S = ponto de intersecção entre as retas OB e AC
OP = raio
Trace OC (raio)
Seja BS = h, logo, OS = r-h
Pitágoras no triângulo COS:
[tex3]r^2=(r-h)^2 + (CS)^2\rightarrow (CS)^2=2rh - h^2[/tex3]
Pitágoras no triângulo SBC:
[tex3]8^2=(CS)^2+h^2 \rightarrow 64 = 2rh - h^2 + h^2\rightarrow 2rh = 64[/tex3]
Pelas propriedades da potência de ponto:
[tex3]15^2=AP.AC[/tex3]
Seja AP = y e CS = PS = x (CS e PS são iguais. basta olhar o triângulo isósceles POC: OS é altura logo também é mediana.)
Então a equação fica assim: [tex3]15^2 = y(2x + y) \rightarrow 15^2 = y^2 + 2xy[/tex3]
Pitágoras no triângulo OSP:
OP é raio!!!
[tex3]r^2=(r-h)^2 + x^2 \rightarrow x^2 = 2rh - h^2[/tex3]
Pitágoras no ASB:
[tex3](AB)^2= h^2 +(x+y)^2 \rightarrow (AB)^2 = h^2 + x^2 + y^2 + 2xy[/tex3]
OBS: [tex3]x^2 = 2rh - h^2 , y^2 + 2xy = 15^2[/tex3]
e [tex3]2rh = 64[/tex3]
Logo:
[tex3](AB)^2 =h^2+2rh-h^2 +15^2 \rightarrow(AB)^2 = 64 + 225 \rightarrow AB = 17[/tex3]
