Calcular o pH no qual o PbO2 sólido oxidará quantitativamente uma solução 0,010 M de Mn2+ a MnO4- . Obs: para uma reação quantitativa, deverá reagir, pelo menos, 99,9% da substância considerada
Dados:
semi-reações
[tex3]MnO4^{-} + 8H^{+}[/tex3]
+ 5e ⇌ [tex3]Mn^{+2}[/tex3]
+ 4H2O E0 = 1,51
PbO2 + [tex3]4H^{+}[/tex3]
+ 2e ⇌[tex3]Pb^{+2}[/tex3]
+ 2H20 E0 = 1,455

Re: Equilíbrio de Óxido-Redução
Olá, josuenunes.
Me parece que o "jeito" desse exercício é o balanceamento:
Ou seja:
De acordo com enunciado, o chumbo reduz o manganês:
Observe que a proporção entre hidrônio e o manganês é de [tex3]2 \text{ Mn}^{+2} : 4 \text{ H}^+ \iff1 \text{ Mn}^{+2} : 2 \text{ H}^+. [/tex3] Logo, temos [tex3]0,02 \mathcal{~M}[/tex3] de [tex3]\text{H}^+.[/tex3] Assim:
Me parece que o "jeito" desse exercício é o balanceamento:
[tex3]\mathrm{
MnO_4^- + 8H^+ +5e^- \leftrightharpoons Mn^{+2} + 4 H_2O ~~ \,\,\times(2)
\\ \\
PbO_2 + 4H^+ + 2 e^- \leftrightharpoons Pb^{+2} ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\times (5)
}[/tex3]
MnO_4^- + 8H^+ +5e^- \leftrightharpoons Mn^{+2} + 4 H_2O ~~ \,\,\times(2)
\\ \\
PbO_2 + 4H^+ + 2 e^- \leftrightharpoons Pb^{+2} ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\times (5)
}[/tex3]
Ou seja:
[tex3]\mathrm{
2MnO_4^- + 16H^+ +10e^- \leftrightharpoons 2Mn^{+2} + 8H_2O
\\ \\
5PbO_2 + 20H^+ + 10 e^- \leftrightharpoons 5Pb^{+2} + 10H_2O
}[/tex3]
2MnO_4^- + 16H^+ +10e^- \leftrightharpoons 2Mn^{+2} + 8H_2O
\\ \\
5PbO_2 + 20H^+ + 10 e^- \leftrightharpoons 5Pb^{+2} + 10H_2O
}[/tex3]
De acordo com enunciado, o chumbo reduz o manganês:
[tex3]\mathrm{
2Mn^{+2} + 8H_2O \leftrightharpoons2MnO_4^- + 16H^+ +10e^-
\\ \\
5PbO_2 + 20H^+ + 10 e^- \leftrightharpoons 5Pb^{+2}
\\ \\
\implies 2Mn^{+2} + 5PbO_2 +4H^+ \leftrightharpoons 2MnO_4^-+5 Pb^{+2} + 2H_2O
}[/tex3]
2Mn^{+2} + 8H_2O \leftrightharpoons2MnO_4^- + 16H^+ +10e^-
\\ \\
5PbO_2 + 20H^+ + 10 e^- \leftrightharpoons 5Pb^{+2}
\\ \\
\implies 2Mn^{+2} + 5PbO_2 +4H^+ \leftrightharpoons 2MnO_4^-+5 Pb^{+2} + 2H_2O
}[/tex3]
Observe que a proporção entre hidrônio e o manganês é de [tex3]2 \text{ Mn}^{+2} : 4 \text{ H}^+ \iff1 \text{ Mn}^{+2} : 2 \text{ H}^+. [/tex3] Logo, temos [tex3]0,02 \mathcal{~M}[/tex3] de [tex3]\text{H}^+.[/tex3] Assim:
[tex3]\mathrm{
pH = - \log \[H^+\] \implies pH=-log \(2 \cdot 10^{-2}\) \approx 1,69
}[/tex3]
pH = - \log \[H^+\] \implies pH=-log \(2 \cdot 10^{-2}\) \approx 1,69
